Our Four Iconic Cabernet Vineyards
World Class Sonoma County Quality
Among our 12 estate vineyards across 1,158 acres in Sonoma County, four stand out among the rest as truly iconic. Spanning the entirety of Alexander Valley, these vineyard sites allow us to showcase the diversity of style and world class quality of Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon.
Cabernet Sauvignon thrives on all four of these vineyard sites, each of which producing a uniquely different style of wine. Many factors impact these varying styles, most notably – temperature, climate, topography, and elevation. We have the ability to make pure forms of Cabernet from each site while also crafting blends that marry these sites together to create entirely different but complete and balanced wines.
We proudly craft six different styles of Sonoma County Cabernet, each of which takes you on a journey through this world-renowned winegrowing region. Sonoma County offers a rich assortment of microclimates, soil, and varietal diversity, making it the ideal place to inspire creativity in the vineyard and cellar.
The Vineyards
The Wines
Alexander Valley
Alexander’s Crown, Cabernet Sauvignon
Alexander’s Crown was the first Sonoma County vineyard to be bottled as a single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine exhibits ripe flavors of black currant, blackberries and violets with a touch of mocha.
Alexander Valley
Rockaway, Cabernet Sauvignon
The Rockaway vineyard site is planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and includes all five of the classic Bordeaux varieties. This wine showcases concentrated flavors of dark plum and red currant with notes of tobacco and baking spices.
Sonoma County
Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Reserve wines are the result of a careful blend of individual lots from meticulously farmed sections of some of the very best vineyards in Sonoma County. Rich, lush and well structured, this wine is velvety smooth with notes of vanilla and cocoa.
Knights Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon
Protected from direct Pacific Ocean influence, Knights Valley is the easternmost Sonoma County appellation and is the warmest viticultural region in the county. Deeply colored and bursting with notes of crushed blackberries, cocoa and cassis, this wine is complex and framed in rich tannins.
Alexander Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon
Rodney Strong recognized in the late 1960s that Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley was an exceptional area for heat-loving Cabernet Sauvignon and planted our first Cabernet vineyard in 1971. This powerful Cabernet has aromas of red plum, milk chocolate and dried fig.
